Christmas Projects

Welcome to that busy time of year for crafting and making gifts for family and friends. So what better way to celebrate than to add a few Christmas craft projects to those that already on this website. As always, any of the projects on this blog are available. Here are some newer Christmas crafts I have available for this year. Of course, I also have all of the Christmas items I have done in the past as well at http://thevintagebarrel.blogspot.com/search/label/Christmas.

1. Believe in the Season Blocks - $5. These blocks are really cute. My sister made these last year and was kind enough to let me share them with you. They measure 4 inches, 6 inches and 8 inches. There will be a variety of paper to choose from. Hopefully, you will choose better than I did on your selection. The bottom block doesn't show up very well. I will change it.

2. Nativity Puzzle - $12. This is a puzzle of the nativity. Right now it is unfinished wood, however, it could be stained or painted and scruffed up on the edges. I received my inspiration from http://lapazfarm.homeschooljournal.net/.

3. Snow letters - $10. These letters I did a couple of years ago for a boutique, however, have never offered them for a craft night. The paper will vary upon your selection and the snowflake has a glitter on it. Hard to see in the picture.

4. HoHoHo letters - $13. These are my own creation. The santa hat has a textured white paint on it and the O's have a green glitter on the front.

5. Christmas Sayings Plaque - $13. Since the Be Grateful plaque was so popular, I thought I would do a Christmas one. These are so easy and just fun for Christmas. It measures 12x15 and the picture is shown in Apple Green, however, other colors are available upon request and the lettering is white vinyl.

6. His Presence Plaque - $13. I came across this saying the other day and fell in love with it. So I thought it would be perfect for a plaque. So this is what I came up with. It measures about 12x12. It is painted in barn red, however, other colors are available upon request and the lettering is white vinyl.

7. NOEL sign - $15. I saw this last year in a Pottery Barn magazine and LOVED it. It was one of those times that I immediately started my knock off version. It measures about 15x15 in size and is spray painted with an antique bronze color. I also did it with a red N-E-L and a white O. That was fun too.

8. Nativity Set - $18. One of my favorite sites to visit is http://undermypolkadotumbrella.blogspot.com/. This lady is very creative and is so kind to share her pattern for this nativity. There are 12 pieces to this nativity that have been painted a solid color and scruffed up. Since there are 12 pieces, this would be a great gift to give one piece each night for the 12 Days of Christmas.

I hope that you like the crafts available. I will get more measurements on here as soon as I can. Please let me know if you would like to do a craft night, like me to send you finished crafts or unfinished crafts in the mail (All finished products are an addition $5 per craft) or if you have any questions. My e-mail is kmennear@msn.com .

Thanks,

Kerrie

New Craft Projects!

I can't believe summer is almost over and school will be starting soon. It makes me sad. I'm not ready for it to be over, but it has motivated me to get all these craft ideas out of my head so they will be available for fall craft nights and/or Super Saturdays. Dates will be coming soon, but I wanted to get the crafts out there so you can see them. I have been focusing quite a bit on just home decor items. I am so excited to share them with you. And of course, if you don't want to wait for a craft night or a Super Saturday in your area, all of the crafts on my blog are available for purchase or kits at any time. Kits will be sold at the make and take price that I sell them for at the craft nights. Feel free to e-mail me, kmennear@msn.com, with questions or orders.

Now on to the crafts.

1. Flip Flop magnet.
$5 make and take price
$10 finished product kit.
This magnet has been so fun to have on the magnet stand for the hot summer months.

2. Antiqued temple picture block
$5 - take home kit
$8 - Finished product price
I found this cool blog the other day (www.lilluna.com) that had all these vintage temple pictures available for you to make your own. It has asked that I do not sell them for a profit, so I am only selling them at cost, but I wanted to make them available so that the areas where my sisters live that don't have access to these types of things can choose to make one from here. Also I think these make great little pictures to place in kids rooms. Picture is 5 x 7 on a 2 x 6 piece of wood.
This is another version that you may choose from for the same price. It allows and extra couple of inches on the side to allow you to place ribbon there. Ribbon is not included.

3. Flower picture.
$12 make and take price
$17 finished product price

Measures 14 1/2 inches x 14 1/2 inches. I have previously shown this one, but have made a few variations with the bigger flower and no saying and the black frame with material flowers. When ordering, please make sure to specify which style you prefer. I love them on the wreath stand this is also available for purchase.

4. Be Grateful Plaque.
$13 make and take price
$18 finished product price

This plaque measures 12 inches wide and 15 inches tall. It has a vintage look with brown showing through the blue with white vinyl on top. My friend asked me to put something together along these lines with this saying and I love how it turned out.

5. EAT letters
$18 make and take price
$23 finished product price

This one is pottery barn inspired. I love how it is just crisp and clear and BIG for the kitchen. My kids love it because while eating dinner they get to point at it and tell each other to eat. It measures about 10 inches tall for the "e" and "a" and about 12 inches tall for the "t".

6. Home letters
$20 make and take price
$25 finished product price

This one is also pottery barn inspired. I love the vintage look and how each letter is different. The "h" measures 11 1/2 inches tall and the "M" measures 12 inches tall. Length wise for the whole word it measures 33 inches. This looks good standing on it's own or leaned up on a shelf.

Here, I just wanted to show how I have displayed my family picture. It is also availabe for purchase and is a highlight in our living room.
I hope you enjoy the crafts. I will be posting dates for craft nights soon. I know there aren't any fall crafts on this post, but feel free to look at past posts and see the fall crafts that are always available and I'll see if I can come up with a few new ones soon as well. E-mail me with any questions or orders.

Thanks, Kerrie

Making it their own!

I LOVE creativity. It is literally a high for me when I have an idea in my head and I am able to create it and it looks awesome. At our last craft night, we had some ladies use their creativity and paint their crafts to make it their own. I have also had some custom orders where ladies have asked for crafts to fit their own look, and then I thought I would share a couple of pictures of how my mom used the crafts as decor in her house. These are all great ideas and worth sharing.
Black candlestick holders, instead of vintage white.

A chocolate brown magnet stand instead of black.

One of my friends asked if I could turn the flower picture that I had hanging from the wreath stand, into a magnet for the magnet stand. I thought it turned out great!

Here are some custom letters for a friends little boy's room.

Barn red apothecaries instead of black.

And here are two pictures from my mom's decor. I love how she decorated with them.

I hope these ideas got your wheels turning on how you might be able to assessorize in your home. Or how you might be able to use your creativity as well. Stay tune, I have some really great projects that I have been working on and plan on posting them tomorrow.

Craft Night Projects

Are you up for a craft night? Here's how it works. I provide projects for you to make, all the supplies needed to make them and step-by-step instructions on how to make them. It is a great atmosphere to sit and visit with friends, but also take home something great. All crafts are easy to make.

Here are the projects:

1. Star Magnets - $3.50 (for a set of 3) make and take or $8.50 for finished product

2. Magent Stand - $15 make and take price or $20 for finished product price

These stands are so fun. They are perfect to put pictures on, use as a recipe holder or use as holiday decor. I try to make craft magnets for these stands for the different holidays or can give you ideas of the different items you can put on them for the different holidays.

3. Star - $8 for make and take price or $13 for finished product price

Measures 9 1/2 inches wide and 14 1/2 inches tall

4. Wreath Stand (26 inches tall) - $25 for make and take price or $30 for finished product

Wreath Stand (35 inches tall) - $30 for make and take price or $35 for finished product

Wreath stand is 26 inches tall in cream with antique glaze over top and with an antique bronze hook. It works well on a console or end table. Wreath stand is great for wreaths, plaques, pictures or decor. The star and the flower picture work nicely on the stand. The taller wreath stand is shown below holding the welcome sign. This stand is best displayed on floor.

5. Flower Picture:

$12 make and take price

$17 finished product price

Measures 14 1/2 by 14 1/2. Wording on the bottom says, "Take time to smell the Flowers." Frame color and flower color can change to your liking upon your request.

6. Large USA Letters and 2 Stars:

$15 make and take price

$20 finished product price

Measure 1 foot tall, 8 inches wide and 2 inches thick. They are bigger than the picture looks.

7. Apothecaries (set of 2):

$20 for make and take price

$25 finished product price

I LOVE the apothecaries. They are so fun to fill with items for the different seasons and also great to fill for every day home decor.

8. Candlestick Centerpiece (Set of 3)

$20 make and take price

$25 finished product price

These three candlesticks measure 5 1/2 inches, 7 inches and 8 inches tall. The candles are not included. Shown in the next three pictures are different ways you can display them. These candles are done in an off white and an antique glaze on them. These would also be cute in black antiqued, which is also available.

9. Kid's Bookshelf

$20 make and take price

$25 finished product price

This measures 31 1/2 inches wide. Each one of my kids has one of these bookshelves. We were so tired of books being tossed on the floor at bedtime. These have been a lifesaver. Painted black with the scruffed up look is the preferred choice.

(Product inspired by Ana-White.com)

10. Welcome Sign

$22 - make and take price

$27 - finished product price

This welcome sign measures 16x16 with bead board. Planter box measures 10 inches wide and 3 1/4 inches in depth. Color choices may vary upon request. Pictures below show different ways to display it. Greenery not included.

11. Family Picture

$30 make and take price (only applies to black frame)
$35 finished product price

This product has been in my head for over a year now and I am so excited that it has finally come together. It measures 14 inches tall and 26 inches wide. It comes in two different styles: the Family with no quote or the Family with the quote that says, "the ones you live, love and laugh with". Either style can be in the black frame, cream frame or color of choice. The black frame is only available for you to make and take. If you prefer the cream or any other color, you will have to pay and have it finished for you.

(Price will go up for boutiques and retail.)
